New Speed Tracking Device

Lets face it when the kids come up to you on a Friday night and ask to borrow the car so they can go out for the evening we all feel a little apprehensive. Its not that we don't trust our kids but we were all young once and you know that all the ground rules you set down will be tossed out of the window as soon as they are round the corner. All your worries seem unfounded when you get up in the morning and the car is parked safely in the drive way, that is until the speeding ticket arrives on the doorstep two weeks later.

New technology on the market could put an end to all the worry that enters a parents mind when their child sets off into the big wide world for the first time in the car.

The new technology has been used in other parts of the motoring industry for some time now but has only recently been available for everyday domestic vehicles. Basically the new technology is a GPS tracker with a difference that is fitted to a car. This tracker then allows the worried party to log onto their computer and check the exact location of the vehicle at any one time. Added features also enable the user to view the speed at which the vehicle is travelling at the time.

One device on the market goes one step further and will notify the parents via SMS if the car exceeds the speed limit allowing the parent to discipline the child as appropriate. This device also gives the parent certain control over the vehicle from the comfort of their own home even as far as immobilising the car so it can not be moved.

I can hear the kids complaining already but this device does serve a positive purpose other than to spy on the kids while they are out enjoying themselves. This device is specifically designed for worried parties who want to keep a track of their loved ones for genuine reasons. The device can even inform a parent that their kids have arrived at their destination safely via SMS if the child forgets to check in, reducing hours of worry.

This device is already in use throughout the USA and is slowly becoming more readily available within the UK. The device is reasonably expensive and you will have to pay a monthly subscription for use of the internet service but surely this is a small price to pay for piece of mind.
